PROJECT OVERVIEW

Connecting a viewing experience across screens.

I led the design team, translating international OTT research into a multilingual, multiplatform experience—and later initiating the design direction for GAİN Shorts.

THE STARTING POINT

Learning from regional OTT platforms.

The challenge was to translate international product patterns into a roadmap relevant to GAİN, while creating a coherent experience across languages and devices. At the start of our work, the product had an App Store rating of 2.1 and ~110K subscribers.

The work began with netnography and international competitor analysis. I studied how OTT was gaining ground against traditional television, and how regional platforms used local content to compete with global services. Dubai and Russia became important research lenses, with Shahid and Kinopoisk among our benchmarks.

ONE SYSTEM

One system for three languages and four screens.

We built one design system for Turkish, English and Arabic across mobile, web, tablet and television. This shared foundation connected international expansion with consistent product delivery. Research informed the roadmap, while requests from users and management continued to shape priorities as the product evolved.

DESIGNING FOR THE REMOTE

Interaction craft on the big screen.

I connected benchmark findings to roadmap proposals and led the creation of the multilingual, multi-device system. Feature design covered viewing, live streaming, packages and profiles, kids profiles, categorization and recommendations. My craft contribution also included TV motion, onboarding animation, Sound UX, haptics and micro-interactions. The next strategic decision was to bring the short-form opportunity to leadership and initiate GAİN Shorts.

GAİN SHORTS

From a market signal to a new product line.

Sensor Tower annual reports drew my attention to the rise of short-form series and video. I brought the opportunity to management and investors, then led the design team from the initial idea through development.

LEADERSHIP

Leading the design team.

I presented our work weekly to the executive committee and investors, connecting the team’s design work with product direction.

ShortsNew product line, from my proposal to development

Over the period I led design, GAİN’s App Store rating rose from 2.1 to 4.3 and subscribers grew from ~110K to 400K. These are product-wide results: new content, marketing and product strategy moved alongside the design work.

The design outcome was one Turkish, English and Arabic system serving web, iOS, Android, tablet and TV — and GAİN Shorts, a short-form product that started from my market-research proposal and reached development with the team.
